OMC-116 Full metal Ultrasonic wind sensor

The OMC-116 is a ultrasonic wind sensor based on the time of flight theory. The unit is provided with industrial standard NMEA0183 output and can optionally be provided with 4.20 mA signals. The robust design in sea worthy alu and stainless steel as well the standard available heating makes this unit ideal for the hardest environments. The standard bracket with integrated junction box makes this unit easy to install.

OMC-160 Wind speed & direction sensor
The popular and often used wind sensor OMC-160 is a combined wind speed and direction sensor, based on the cup and vane principle. Having chosen for the highest quality stainless steel materials and internal non-contact measuring devices, this sensor stands for a long life time, having the highest accuracies within both the low range as well as the high range wind speeds.
This sensor is commonly used within the shipping and offshore industry but can also be found on many airfields, container terminals and harbors, along highways and on bridges.

The OMC-150 is an Intrinsically Safe combined wind speed and direction sensor, based on the cup and vane principle. A complete wind set consists besides this sensor of an Eex junction box which is placed nearby the sensor OMC-156, and a Zener barrier interface box OMC-158. Using a sin/cos potentiometer wind direction is measured without a dead-band, while speed is measured using a proximately switch and a code cap. The unit is made from stainless steel and comes with a mounting arm which can be clamped to a mast using two U-Bolts.

OMC-118 Ultrasonic wind sensor
OMC-118 Ultrasonic wind sensor is used in cases an ultrasonic wind sensor is required. As Commercial Of The Shelf sensor, Observator has supplied this stainless steel instrument to several Navies. Other application were Observator applied this sensor are in general marine and offshore applications as well in several tunnels.
The OMC-118 can be connected to all Obsermet equipment like data loggers, signal conditioning units and displays using the NMEA or Polar format. The OMC-118 which has a standard 0..65 m/s is optionally also available in a 0..75 m/s range.

OMC-118 I.S. Ultrasonic Intrinsically Safe Wind sensor
The Intrinsically Safe Wind Sensor is approved to EEx ia IIC T4 Ga for use in hazardous areas. This industrial anemometer will monitor wind speeds of 0-75m/s and is particularly suited to offshore oil platform applications. With a low start-up speed (0.01 m/s) and no moving parts, the OMC-118 Intrinsically Safe anemometer exhibits significant benefits over standard three cup anemometers. Approved to EEx ia IIC T4 Ga, this Intrinsically Safe anemometer is ideal for use in hazardous areas, requiring no calibration or maintenance.

Synchrotac 706 series wind sensors
Synchrotac 706 Series Heavy Duty Wind Speed and Direction Transmitter designed for general meteorological applications where accuracy, durability and long term reliability are required even in severe climatic conditions. The Synchrotac has a long history of reliable service in very aggresive environments such as in coastal tropical cyclone areas and oil rigs.
Three anemometer models and two wind direction models are available in the Synchrotac 706 series.
Three anemometer models:
- the 732 – poly-phase linear generator
- the 734 – isolated switch contact closure
- the 736 for opto-electronic pulse output
Two wind direction models:
- the 706 unit – 360° precision potentiometer
- the 724 unit utilising a ganged 540° potentiometer assembly
Synchrotac 710 series wind sensors
The Synchrotac 710 Series of wind speed and direction sensors are designed for general-purpose wind measuring applications. They are constructed from corrosion resistant materials and incorporate precision sealed stainless steel bearings for reliability and low starting threshold.
The sensors can be individually mounted directly to a pipe mast with a ½ inch BSP male thread or as a pair on the optional cross arm or mounting sickle.
- The Synchrotac SYN710-1965 wind speed sensor (anemometer) generates a DC voltage proportional to wind speed and requires no external power.
- The Synchrotac SYN710-1970 anemometer uses optoelectronic techniques to produce voltage pulses at a rate proportional to wind speed and requires external power.
- The Synchrotac SYN710-1980 uses a magnet/reed switch assembly to actuate a momentary contact closure every cup set revolution and requires no external power.
- The Synchrotac SYN710-2900 wind vane uses a precision potentiometer to produce a voltage proportional to wind direction.
- The Synchrotac SYN710-2900 requires an external reference voltage supply for theprecision potentiometer.
All Synchrotac 710 sensors are available in optional stainless steel construction.
Synchrotac 710-3000 series wind sensors
The Synchrotac 710-3000 series is the latest in the successful range of SYN710 wind instruments and offers an integrated loop powered 4 – 20mA output.
The Synchrotac 710-3000 Series of wind speed and direction sensors are designed for general-purpose wind measuring applications. They are constructed from corrosion resistant materials and incorporate precision sealed stainless steel bearings for reliability and low starting threshold.
- The Synchrotac SYN710-3500 wind speed sensor (anemometer) offers a 4 – 20mA output and is loop powered. The default span is 0 to 100km/hr but other spans may be ordered up to 150km/hr.
- The Synchrotac SYN710-3900 wind vane uses a precision potentiometer to produce a 4 – 20mA output and it is also loop powered.
